Nick is an Associate Director and leads the Flood Risk & Drainage team, which undertakes hydrological, flood and drainage projects. He has 18 years’ experience working for consulting engineers predominately in the UK, but also in Australia.
His expertise includes flood risk management, flood alleviation, hydraulic modelling and environmental enhancement, for both the public and private sector. He has extensive experience in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage studies, which include advising clients on how best to achieve development aspirations whilst managing constraints. Nick has also successfully challenged numerous Environment Agency flood maps through hydraulic modelling, to improve development opportunities.
He is well versed in negotiating with stakeholders, including the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and Local Planning Authorities, on flood and drainage matters, minded with the best possible outcome for the client, whilst maintaining a positive and environmentally sensitive approach.
His hobbies of hiking and playing golf have taken a backseat since becoming a father and being on constant nappy duty!
