Project overview

Cloud Wing is bringing forward plans for the regeneration of the former brickworks factories and adjacent sites that lie to the south of Bedford, including Stewartby and Kempston Hardwick. The proposals will revitalise the brownfield former industrial sites, bringing back jobs, homes and creating new sustainable communities that are firmly rooted in the area’s history.

The proposals provide up to 1,000 residential dwellings, 3,500 sq m of office spaces, a primary school and pre-school, a heritage interpretation centre and associated community facilities including a local retail centre, formal and informal play and open public space.

Our Approach

We have provided transport consultancy on the new scheme. The overall package of transport measures included as part of the proposals promote sustainable travel to and from the site, and within the site. They facilitate the delivery of critical infrastructure improvements, including a new bridge across the Marston Vale railway line, and safeguard land for the potential future delivery of a new ‘Stewartby’ rail station.
