Project overview
We are retained by St James West London on this major, mixed-use scheme in west London, close to Southall town centre and station. We previously acted for National Grid Property in obtaining planning permission for the site’s redevelopment.
Our Approach
Our engagement is ongoing. We have prepared an updated Transport Assessment to support a Section 73 application for a revised masterplan for the St James proposals. This work included design advice on the layout as a member of the design team and in discussions with TfL and the London Borough of Ealing about key parameters, including cycle route provision.
We also prepared a transport assessment to support a variation of condition application which would allow work to commence on-site early, delivering housing sooner. This included a detailed analysis of predicted construction traffic movements and their routes to and from the site. In 2015 David Bird presented evidence at the CPO inquiry.
In addition to this, we have undertaken detailed design of the proposed site access junctions in consultation with TfL and the London Borough of Ealing and are continuing to provide on-going support as St James West London brings forward the development and S278 highway works.
