Project overview

Vectos has been appointed by St Congar to provide transport advice in relation to the Toads Hole Valley site in Brighton. The site is Brighton’s largest allocated site at 42.2 hectares and the proposals include 880 homes along with 25,000sqm of offices, land for a 900-pupil secondary school and a local centre.

Our Approach

We were appointed in October 2020 to undertake a peer review of the work previously undertaken and were then subsequently retained to take forward the proposals to determination.

One of our key roles was to unlock an impasse that had arisen between the developers team and the Council. We emphasised the sustainable transport package whilst resolving outstanding issues related to some complex modelling of the effects of the development.

The scheme received planning approval from Brighton and Hove City Council in May 2022.
